The New York Rumble have announced the re-signing of defensive specialist Joe “Smash” Anderson.
Anderson tallied 17 total points last season, compiling 11 assists to go along with six D’s. He led the team both on and off the field and is excited to be back with the squad. “I decided to play on the Rumble again because I had a blast last season and I felt like I could have even more fun this year,” Anderson said.
Assistant coach Anthony Nuñez praised Anderson for his Ultimate skills and the leadership he displayed last season. “Anderson brings more to the D-line than just big plays and shut down defense, he brings a leadership that can’t be matched,” Nuñez said. “He has been playing this game since he was fourteen years old and just knows all the right things to do. If the guys needed someone to help pick them up, we would all turn to Joe who would have the right words to help fire everyone up. I am very excited that we have Joe back and I cannot wait to see what type of damage he does on the field.”
Throughout the offseason, Anderson has been teaching children at the Family Annex, a school associated with Columbia University.
