The 2016 New York Rumble fielded a roster full of young, talented ultimate athletes. With plenty of raw talent to develop, Coaches Anthony Nuñez and Eileen Murray relied on the veteran leadership of players like Wilson to lead the team on and off the field. While he had been one of the best defenders in the league as a rookie, Wilson had to be a more complete player in 2016, a role in which he flourished.
A talented handler, Wilson was the primary option behind the disc for the Rumble D-line in the early weeks of the 2016 season, before a leg injury sidelined him for the majority of the year. Despite playing on the D-line in his limited time on the field in 2016, the Temple University product was able to show off his offensive ability, averaging over two assists per game and helping to ease the transition to the professional game for many of his young teammates.
