Last Saturday against the DC Current, Lucas Murphy somehow caught up to Joe Anderson’s inside-out flick for one of the most amazing catches of the season.

Not only did Murphy earn himself a customized pair of Friction Gloves, but on Tuesday night he watched himself at #8 on SportsCenter’s Top 10, marking the third week in a row an MLU player has reached the sports news countdown.

When asked about the catch and subsequent television appearance, Murphy said, “I don’t need the lime light; I was happy to see my team win because they played like a team. It’s only the beginning!”

Murphy may be on to something. After winning two in a row, the Rumble are now in second place in the Eastern Conference and stand ready to hand the Whitecaps their first loss.
