The Rumble announced today that Hat City Kitchen will be the team’s Official Afterparty partner for the 2016 MLU Season.
When the Rumble decided to make their home Bell Stadium in Orange, N.J., establishing ties with local business and partners was made a priority, and Hat City Kitchen fits that bill perfectly. Located right in the Valley Arts District of Orange, Hat City Kitchen is the definition of a “neighborhood restaurant, bar and destination music venue”. Founded by HANDS, a local non-profit organization aimed at revitalization of “the Valley”, Hat City Kitchen has become a fixture of the community, bringing life to the region and offering live entertainment, a delicious menu and a dozen craft beers on tap.
“With the stadium move into Orange, NJ we have placed a strong emphasis on connecting with the local community.” said Billy Sickles, MLU Partnership Development Associate. “Hat City Kitchen was a perfect fit given it’s history of community involvement and its proximity to Bell Stadium, not mention it’s great food, drink and atmosphere.”
In 2010, Hat City Kitchen was rated “Best New Restaurant” by New Jersey Monthly Critic’s Choice, a great recognition for a restaurant whose profits go back into the Valley Arts District revitalization activities.
“Hat City Kitchen and HANDS agreed to work with Major League Ultimate to bring focus to the area as the ‘birthplace’ of ultimate frisbee.” said Patrick Morrissy, Executive Director of Hat City Kitchen and HANDS. “Our neighboring town, Maplewood, is the home of Columbia High School where Frisbee was introduced into the curriculum in 1968 and the creation of “Columbia High School Varsity Frisbee Squad” in early 1970. So, having the games played at Bell Stadium in Orange, N.J. is in close proximity to Hat City Kitchen to enjoy the great food, drinks and music.”
Come out and see the Rumble host the Boston Whitecaps this Saturday, April 16 at 4pm ET and swing by Hat City Kitchen afterward to meet your favorite players!
